Christian Connor spent several years practising with a German law firm in Düsseldorf before joining Chartier & Associés, a French law firm specialising in international law. There he developed his practise, focusing on advice to foreign, and especially German, businesses established in France. He left in 1988 in order to set up with some of his current partners the law firm that would become Lmt Avocats, as well as PLG, an international network of law firms and the first European economic interest grouping. He is still an active member of both.

Having acquired specific skills in international business matters, he is able to assist and advise French and foreign businesses alike in all types of legal transactions. Furthermore, his command of German and English gives him direct insights into the various aspects of foreign client businesses’ daily lives and he is therefore able to understand perfectly the issues involved when dealing on their behalf.

For instance, after the fall of the Berlin wall, he actively assisted French businesses interested in the privatization process undergone by former East German companies. This valuable experience, which saw him reside chiefly in Germany for over two years, allowed him to acquire an extended knowledge of the German legal system and culture.

Christian Connor’s career and the substantial network of professional contacts he has built up in Germany and France makes him the perfect lawyer for French and German businesses wishing to establish themselves in the other country.

Likewise, his experience assisting international investors makes him a choice counsel when it comes to piloting major reorganisation projects and handling the resulting social consequences and litigation.

His knowledge of the business environment is also an asset which companies can call upon when faced with litigation proceedings of all types, both before the judicial courts and before arbitral tribunals. Over the last few years, he has conducted industrial litigation proceedings relating to all kinds of claims for numerous French and German businesses.

The result of this prolific career as legal advisor and trial counsel is a vast body of experience ensuring premium services for clients, whose satisfaction is furthermore guaranteed by Christian Connor’s understanding of their needs and wishes thanks to his sharp relational and negotiation skills.
