Georges-Marie Duclos started as a tax advisor with the Tax department of an Anglo-Saxon audit company, where he helped the auditors with all tax law-related issues, prepared tax returns, and followed up on tax disputes, before leaving for the Tax department of a big Parisian law firm. After being admitted to the Paris Bar in 1978, he additionally developed a specific expertise in business law and litigation which added to his tax law practice and enabled him to extend the scope of his work.
Georges-Marie Duclos then took up several partnerships with business law firms before joining Lmt Avocats in 1996. There he advised French and foreign clients on their tax strategies and assisted them where necessary in litigation proceedings before and after tax audits. He also regularly acted as a taxpayers’ representative before the Paris departmental committee for direct and turnover tax.
As the law firm’s authority in such matters, Georges-Marie Duclos’ opinion was sought whenever a case raised a tax-related issue, especially for M&A transactions.
