After graduating both in economics and in law, Valérie Tromas joined the law firm Chaney, Connor, Lemétais & Associés (now Lmt Avocats) as an associate in 1994, where she soon specialized in employment issues. With her hands-on approach to the needs and constraints of businesses, she quickly earned her clients' trust and helped develop the law firm's French and foreign clientele.

Now a partner (since 2002), she assists both the human resources management teams of French and international groups and the executives of small- and medium-sized businesses with their labour law issues, from development or reorganisation plans (mergers and acquisitions, lay-offs, negotiation and re-negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, especially as regards working time) to the daily management of collective and individual employment relations.

Although she is often able to prevent and confine labour-law risks before they break out thanks to her comprehensive regulatory knowledge, she also conducts litigation proceedings whenever negotiations fail to give amicable results.
